Eventful Month
On top of being a busy bee at work and shows being this week (thank goodness they have been easy breezy), we have moved out of our home in Plumas Lake. It was a good thing, but also a sad and stressful thing, too. Sad because it was our first home and stressful because moving is always stressful and not fun. But it's a good thing because we are now a lot closer to work and have extra hands to help take care of Avalon. We moved in with John's parents for the next year or so to save money to hopefully buy another house out here. Ok...so here's the upsetting news. Well, I can't put pictures up right now because I accidently put our printer in storage and his parents computer doesn't work very well, so we need to set up our laptop and go get our printer...ok so on to the sad sad story. You may need to get a tissue......I'll wait...............................ok so this morning was John's morning to get up with Avalon and feed her and play with her while I sleep in. So I was sleeping and all of asudden I heard screaming. I bolted out of bed and asked John what was wrong as I grabbed her and tried to comfort her. He was sitting on the floor with her holding onto her hands while she was standing up (which she LOVES to do and just discovered jumping) Anyways, so he was holding onto her hands while she was standing and her legs got wobbly and gave out. Her leg bent the wrong way and he heard a POP!!! After I took her she stopped crying and seemed fine. So I sat down and had her stand on my legs so I could feel if she was putting pressure on it. Sure enough, she wasn't. So I told John we needed to go to the doctors. He thought, what for if she's not crying anymore she'd be fine right. Well, if you work at a gymnastics place and have seen kids break things, you know that that's not true. So I told him stories of work and he said, "OH, well then hopefully she's ok" So he made the doctor's appointment. The brave baby girl got x-rays and did so great. Sure enough it came back that her leg is fractured. Poor baby. I tried to be tough, but as soon as the doctor left the room I started crying and couldn't stop (even though I had already prepared myself and knew it was fractured or something like it I still couldn't hold back) She looks so sad in a fiberglass splint. We go to a specialist on Tuesday to see if he wants to put it in a cast or leave it splinted. I wish you guys could see the picture. With a crazy month, I'll be glad to go to Disneyland in a week. (PS, things come in 3 right, so after we made a doctor's appointment for Avalon's leg, the cat wanted into the bathroom while I was in there, so I opened the door to let her in, but she was scratching at the wrong end of the door and her paw fell in between the crack of the door and got squashed and started crying and then when John got home to let Beau, our dog, out of the cage somehow : ok not somehow because this dog is extremely clumsy and broke his leg last year: anyways he slipped in his cage and got his leg caught somehow between the bars and kept trying to pull it out and crying. John had to calm him down and then pull it out. Dog and Cat are fine. WHAT A DAY!!! I need a nice hot, relaxing bubble bath!!!

And to top of the end of our week we had a very special friend come into town. The friends in my picture were my very best friends from high school I haven't seen the one in the middle for about 7 years. It was so great to all come together and have the kids play while we reconnect. It's amazing how much we've grown and to see eachother with kids. First we went to Cortney's house and had lunch while the kids played in the playroom. Then the next day they came over for dinner at my house while the kids played in the playroom and Chris and John played video games. We caught up on how different our lives and families are and on old friends. Avalon got to visit with her friend again. I love their faces in this picture. Avalon always looks so dumbfounded. It was such a special week for us with our grandpa and then our friend Amy. Hopefully we'll get to visit again without it being 7 years in between. The good thing is she lives near my dad so I'm sure we'll see eachother more. Love you Amy!!!
Avalon also this last week got to meet her Grandpa Kerkes for the first time. I am so glad he came down to visit. I haven't seen him in about a year and a half so it was a nice treat for the both of us. We had fun watching movies all week and going out to dinner. I'm so glad that she finally got to meet him. John, my dad, and I also have started this bet on who can lose 20lbs first. I am in it to win it and going to kick major bootie. Love you Dad!!!
Avalon had a big week last week. First it started with her first Luau. Her Grandpa and Grandma Green race outrigger canoes (Hawaiian boats). Their club puts on a hug Luau every year. It was so fun; great food and drinks, great hawaiian music, and great entertainment. They had hula dancers. They had the cutest kids that have learned how to dance, too. Avalon had fun shakin her butt, too like the hula dancers.
